Book Tour

Author: Brendan Reichs

Series: Project Nemesis, #1

Publication Date: March 21st, 2017

Publisher: G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers

Synopsis: Orphan Black meets Lord of the Flies in this riveting new thriller from the co-author of the Virals series.

It’s been happening since Min was eight. Every two years, on her birthday, a strange man finds her and murders her in cold blood. But hours later, she wakes up in a clearing just outside her tiny Idaho hometown—alone, unhurt, and with all evidence of the horrifying crime erased.

Across the valley, Noah just wants to be like everyone else. But he’s not. Nightmares of murder and death plague him, though he does his best to hide the signs. But when the world around him begins to spiral toward panic and destruction, Noah discovers that people have been lying to him his whole life. Everything changes in an eye blink.

For the planet has a bigger problem. The Anvil, an enormous asteroid threatening all life on Earth, leaves little room for two troubled teens. Yet on her sixteenth birthday, as she cowers in her bedroom, hoping not to die for the fifth time, Min has had enough. She vows to discover what is happening in Fire Lake and uncovers a lifetime of lies: a vast conspiracy involving the sixty-four students of her sophomore class, one that may be even more sinister than the murders.

Nemesis had a bit of a thriller/dark theme to it, so when I created the mood board for the book, I took that into consideration and used images that I thought were close to how I felt about the setting and overall emotions I felt while reading.

Also, I’m not the most artsy person in the world, but I was kind of happy with how this turned out!

Thank you! It’s the first time I’ve actually made a mood board for a book, so I was hoping it wasn’t too bad! I haven’t read anything else by this author, but this book? Oh my gosh, it’s awesome. It’s probably one of the best science-fiction/thrillers that I’ve read in a long time. When I finished it, I actually wanted to cry because now we have to wait for the next book, haha.

Great mood board! I can’t wait to read this book and remember your photos. Lanscape photography is my favorite and the cave and forest photos are excellent and set an eerie mood.

Thanks! I hope you enjoy the book when you read it – it’s definitely a great thriller! I love landscape photography, too – it’s definitely my favorite to both use in projects as well as actually photograph myself!

It definitely does have a bit of a freaky side to it, lol. But it’s such a great read – the mystery kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book to the very end, and there are still so many unanswered questions…the author really got me hooked on the series!

  8. Loved your moodboard and the darker foresty feel about it, I can definitely tell it’s a creepy read! Thanks for sharing, Kelly!
