Rains was a really interesting book – there was a lot going on there that made you hang out on the edge of your seat while reading, and the action was so fast paced that it made the book a real nail biter.

When I heard that the second book in the series was coming out, I was just as excited, because I had really enjoyed the first one so much. I’m so happy to get to be a part of the blog tour for this book, so I can talk to you all about books that I honestly haven’t seen around much, but deserve tons of recognition.

Last Chance is the sequel to Rains, which again follows the Rains brothers and their fight against a really strange alien threat that is turning everyone who is at least eighteen or over into aggressive and mean zombies. Seriously, from the synopsis, who wouldn’t want to read this? It sounds like so much fun – like a thrill ride you just want to hop on over and over again.

The settings are so well detailed in this book, and I love the way that the author describes the zombies that have become affected by the alien threat. There is really so much going on here, and to be honest, this is the kind of book that I had to put down at night because I kept wondering “what if” over and over again (and maybe I’m a big baby, but shh). I love the whole science fiction aspect that this book relies on, especially when coupled with the slight amount of horror that also shines through. It’s a fantastic balance and it’s well done, that’s for certain.

The characters are really well written, and some of the dialogue between the brothers in this book really won me over. I found myself caring a lot for the main characters and wishing the best for them the whole way through the book.

If I have to be honest, I think that Last Chance is even more engaging and entertaining than Rains, and I really enjoyed reading that one. If you haven’t checked out this book yet, or the previous one, you should give them a go. They’re incredibly entertaining and have the perfect mix of genres to keep things very interesting.
