Parodying the outrageous language and ideas espoused by conspiracy-minded, right-wing extremist organizations mixed in with a generous dose of silly cat humor, How to Talk to Your Cat About Gun Safety is a hilarious PSA for cat lovers, political junkies with a sense of humor, and anyone who likes a good laugh.

My Review

This is one of those books that is written to make you laugh, and kind of poke fun at the ridiculous views that some have over important issues, such as gun safety, abstinence, creationism, etc.  Quite the liberal myself, I kind of wondered if I might find this plain absurd, but it really made me laugh on quite a few occasions.

The book itself offers several different “pamphlets”, including topics I mentioned earlier as well as a few others, and they are aimed toward speaking to your feline friend about all of these issues.  Armed with laugh out loud funny advice and, of course, beliefs of your ridiculous right wing extremists, this book offers a hilarious and quite enjoyable reading experience.  The pictures of the cats in various “taboo” acts really adds to the book and makes it even more fun to read.

I have to say that I could pretty much see a lot of people getting offended by this book, so I would only read it if you are open minded or have a little bit of common sense floating around in your noggin…it’s meant to be a parody, not a serious book.

Just remember…keep your kitties safe and be sure you talk to them about important issues!
