Watch You Burn

Publisher: Delacorte Press
Formats: Hardcover, eBook
Synopsis: Jenny didn’t want to move to the creepy, possibly haunted town with her dad. But the cops are on to her, and the only way she can protect herself is by moving as far away from her hometown as possible and staying out of trouble.
But even after she moves, Jenny still gets the itch. The itch to light a match and then watch it burn.
It’s something she hasn’t been able to stop, ever since an accident years ago. Now, in a new town, Jenny has the strange feeling that someone is watching her every move. Will her arsonist ways be exposed? Or is the burning truth deep inside her a greater danger?
This book was such a dark and twisted thriller – something that was right up my alley that I couldn’t help but put down! Amanda Searcy’s writing really shines through in this novel, and you can see how wonderful of a story she is able to weave together when you pick this one up!
The first thing I loved about this book was definitely the darker plot that was almost haunting and atmospheric. It was perfect for fall, especially on a chilly day when you’re looking to get lost in an amazing book. There was so much happening in this book at all times that it was impossible to be bored or left hanging even for a second – the entire book was put together in such a way that I couldn’t help but be incredibly impressed from the very first page through the last.
The characters in this one were incredibly put together and developed, and they had a lot to bring to the table. The main character of the book has so much in terms of personality – I really loved her and the story that went on around her. The supporting characters also had a lot to offer, and together it was like they practically brought the plot to life, made it super unique and even more fun.
I loved the plot of the book, too – it was so much different than anything I’ve read, and since I love thrillers I was addicted to this book throughout the entire thing. The writing was perfect, suspenseful, and enjoyable, while the plot had so many different twists and ways that it stayed interesting throughout the whole book.
If you love thrillers (especially one perfect for a chilly fall day), then you won’t want to miss this one. It’s so interesting and so much fun, fast paced and exciting, that you will want to read it again as soon as you finish it!
