Publisher: G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers
Synopsis: Noah Livingston knows he is destined to survive.
The 64 members of Fire Lake’s sophomore class are trapped in a place where morals have no meaning, and zero rules apply. But Noah’s deaths have trained him–hardened him–to lead the strongest into the future . . . whatever that may be. And at any cost.
Min Wilder knows that survival alone isn’t enough.
Trapped in a violent world where brute force passes for leadership, it’s tempting to lay back and let everyone else fight it out. But Min’s instincts rebel against allowing others to decide who lives and who dies. She’s ready to fight for what she believes in. And against whomever might stand in her way.

If you remember my review for Nemesis, you will know that I thought that book was one of the best books that I had read – it was thrilling, exciting, and so much fun from the first page all the way through. Nemesis was filled with twists and turns that I had never in a million years seen coming, and when I heard about Genesis, it quickly made its way onto my list of books that I absolutely need to read.
Like Nemesis, the action, twists, and turns that happen in Genesis are so incredible and suspenseful that I truly couldn’t get enough of it from the moment I started reading until I was finished.
All my favorite characters were back in Genesis, and they were as amazing as ever. Min was still a badass, independent character who stood up for what she believed in and I think the author did such a fantastic job with her. I’m also glad we got to read more about Noah and the strange relationship that was budding between the two of them from the first book.
If you thought Nemesis was full of action and thrills, that was only a warm up. Genesis has so much more to offer, and I flew through it so fast I surprised even myself.
The incredibly imagined world that the author came up with for the series is still as amazing and exciting as the first book, only more now because we have learned partly what is going on in Nemesis. In Genesis, we do learn a bit more about what is going on and why, and I really loved the whole continuation and how little by little, we start to learn the truth.
Genesis was the perfect sequel to Nemesis, hands down. Never before has a series captured my interest and made me long for more the way that Brendan Reichs’ Project Nemesis series has done.
If you have been on the fence on reading Nemesis and then picking up Genesis, I have to tell you right now, whether or not you are a huge fan of science fiction and thrillers, this is one that you will absolutely love. The writing is great, the story is amazing and detailed and so much fun, and the characters are well written and fleshed out in such a great way.
