Synopsis: Jessa Whitworth knew she didn’t belong in her ex-boyfriend Caleb’s room. But she couldn’t deny that she was everywhere—in his photos, his neatly folded T-shirts, even the butterfly necklace in his jeans pocket…the one she gave him for safe keeping on that day.

His mother asked her to pack up his things—even though she blames Jessa for his accident. How could she say no? And maybe, just maybe, it will help her work through the guilt she feels about their final moments together.

But as Jessa begins to box up the pieces of Caleb’s life, they trigger memories that make Jessa realize their past relationship may not be exactly as she remembered. And she starts to question whether she really knew Caleb at all.

Each fragment of his life reveals a new clue that propels Jessa to search for the truth about Caleb’s accident. What really happened on the storm-swept bridge?

This is the first book by Megan Miranda that I have had the chance to read, despite having heard of several of her books, and heard pretty much only great things about them.  When I picked this one up, I was super excited for fun thriller full of all kinds of twists and turns, and that’s exactly what Megan delivered when she wrote Fragments for the Lost.

My favorite part about this book was the guessing.  I had to guess about quite a few things (like what Jessa figures out about Caleb, for instance).  I love when a book makes me curious and I try to form my own opinions of what is going to happen, so when I realized that this book was going to give me the opportunity to do that, I was pretty thrilled.

I really liked Jessa’s character.  She was given so very much to deal with, and to add on top of that, it was hard that she had to learn about her ex-boyfriend and the things that he had kept hidden.  It was definitely something a bit different from a lot of other thrillers, and even different from that I had been expecting.

It was interesting how Jessa uncovered all of the things about Caleb that she managed to dig up, too.  The mystery that Fragments of the Lost offered was one of the most interesting that I’ve read in a while, and it was like trying to uncover something in my own life, I was able to connect with Jessa all that well.  I think the author did a fantastic job with writing her.

Fragments of the Lost is the kind of book that had me hooked from the very beginning, so I truly loved it.  I couldn’t put it down, and I felt the suspense throughout the entire novel, through every single twist and turn, all the way through the finish.

Now that I’ve read this book and enjoyed it so much, I am definitely going to be going back and reading all of Megan Miranda’s other books, as well!

Note: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review – Thank you!
