Sixteen-year-old Quinn Hardwick’s having a rough summer. Her beloved grandmother has been put into a home, her dad’s gambling addiction has flared back up and now her worst enemy is back in town: Wesley James, former childhood friend—until he ruined her life, that is.
So when Wesley is hired to work with her at Tudor Tymes, a medieval England themed restaurant, the last thing Quinn’s going to do is forgive and forget. She’s determined to remove him from her life and even the score all at once—by getting him fired.
But getting rid of Wesley isn’t as easy as she’d hoped. When Quinn finds herself falling for him, she has to decide what she wants more: to get even, or to just get over it.
This book is simply adorable! I loved how sweet this entire book is – it was seriously the most perfect and fun summer read. From the cover to the plot to the characters to the cute romance that lies within the pages of this book, I loved every second of it, and can’t recommend this one highly enough to those who are looking for a sweet summer romance. If you like the enemies to lovers trope in YA, this is the perfect book to add to your summer reading list!
Quinn Hardwick is sixteen years old and having a rough time – her father has a bad gambling addiction that is making things difficult at home, plus her grandmother has been put into an assisted living center. Now, she finds out that the boy who was her enemy from years ago is moving back into town, and she isn’t looking forward to having to deal with him.
Quinn and Wesley used to be friends – that is, until he ruined her life.
Now she can’t stand him.
Now Wesley and Quinn are going to be working together in a restaurant and Quinn wants nothing to do with it. Or him. And she is determined not to get over what happened and forgive him for it, but she would much rather hold a grudge. So instead of taking the high road, she plans on giving him a taste of his own medicine and getting him fired. Only it backfires and she finds that getting him out of the picture is almost impossible – and she might be falling for him.
Seriously you guys, if you are going to read one cute summer romance, this is such a good one. I love that Quinn’s character is so determined not to let Wesley back into her life, and that she plans on going so far as to get him fired, but ends up falling for him instead! It’s a real treat, and it shows that you can’t help who you fall in love with.
I’m not usually a huge romance fan, but this book deserves so much praise. It’s the kind of book that you can easily lose yourself in and fly right through, and the characters lend a lot to the book with their awesome personalities (especially Quinn). She is so much fun and brings the whole story to life.
Definitely pick this one up if you are looking for a cute, short read for this summer. It’s perfect for the beach, pool, park, or even indoors with your air conditioner cranked up and a nice glass of iced tea!
Note: I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
