You know their names. Now discover their beginnings.
Mori’s abusive father is behind bars…and she has never felt less safe. Threatening letters have started appearing on her doorstep, and the police are receiving anonymous tips suggesting that Mori—not her father—is the Regent’s Park killer. To make matters worse, the police are beginning to believe them.
Through it all, Lock—frustrating, brilliant, gorgeous Lock—is by her side. The two of them set out to discover who is framing Mori, but in a city full of suspects, the task is easier said than done. With the clock ticking, Mori will discover just how far she is willing to go to make sure that justice is served, and no one—not even Lock—will be able to stop her.
Some Nifty Book Links:
When I first picked up Lock & Mori, I wasn’t really sure what to expect…I hadn’t really spent a lot of time being fascinated by Sherlock stories…but I do love the TV series. If you haven’t read that book yet, check out my review for it here!
I don’t want to to give too much away from the sequel, so rather than really touching on all the specific details of this second book in the series, I want to talk about the general plot and what I loved about it, so I can be sure that I don’t give out any spoilers (although there may be some!)
In the first Lock & Mori novel, Sherlock and Mori solved a crime that was costing many citizens their lives, and they also put Mori’s abusive father behind bars once and for all. In this book, the duo are back and doing what they do best – solving crimes and trying to figure things out the way that they do best.
This time around, Mori is finding threatening letters turning up at her door, and needs to get to the bottom of it before things get any worse. So she teams up with Sherlock again, and the things that they discover really take their toll on Mori’s sanity – in fact, she feels she is being framed for all of the previous murders, as well as some new happenings, and is trying to figure out what to do next.
Although she is being framed, Sherlock is sticking by her side and trying to help her get to the bottom of things, in their bickering, strange relationship that makes them…well, Lock and Mori. You simply can’t help but fall in love with them as they take on this completely different set of obstacles than what they had to face the last time.
Lock and Mori’s characters are still as amazing as the previous book…if you loved their characters and in-depth personalities before, you will love them here, too. The plot is equally complicated and requires much thought on their parts to figure out, so make sure you are ready to come up with some theories!
Note: I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
